A “torpedo” or “salamander” heater generates heat, then uses a fan to push the heated air out of the unit and directly into the area requiring heat. Torpedo heaters are a simple form of portable heater and only require an electrical outlet and propane which you provide, or which are available for rental here at Taylor. Do NOT run these heaters unattended .
These propane units output 150k btu’s and require a minimum of a 100lb tank to operate properly (larger, or multiple tanks may be required depending on hours of use and temperature)
REMEMBER- these units are only legal for use in construction and similar applications and can not be used in a facility where people are currently living.
